Sri Mulyani: President Wants Vaccination To Reach 3 Million Per Day
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has instructed the number of vaccinations to continue to be increased, even reaching 3 million injections per day.
The COVID-19 vaccination involves the TNI, Polri, and the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN).
"We have asked the TNI-Polri and BKKBN midwives to assist in the implementation of vaccinations so that they can catch up to 1-2 million per day or even 3 million per day," said Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, quoted by Antara, Saturday, July 17 night
Sri Mulyani said that her party is ready to provide additional budget support so that the target for increasing vaccination can be achieved.
"The target given for the TNI - Polri is 30 million people who are vaccinated and 37 million people who are vaccinated midwives. this means that they will be given a budget for vaccination, namely personnel who carry out vaccinations of Rp. 1.96 trillion," said Sri Mulyani.
In total, said Sri Mulyani, the Ministry of Finance allocated a budget of Rp. 57.84 trillion for vaccination purposes. The amount consists of IDR 47.65 trillion for vaccine procurement and IDR 6.5 trillion for the cost of implementing vaccinations in the regions.
“For the procurement, there is Rp. 47.6 trillion and for the implementation of vaccination in the regions, Rp. 6.5 trillion. This one is actually included in the APBD, this is what we will intercept later so we can transfer it to the TNI-Polri and to the BKKBN, whose midwives can vaccinate, are mobilized to carry out vaccinations to reach the target of over 2 million per day, "said the Minister of Finance.
The government is targeting to be able to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to 181.5 million Indonesians to create community immunity. The COVID-19 vaccination is targeted to be completed this year.
