Arguing At The Separation Post, NTB DPRD Member From F-PAN Najamuddin: If Called By The Police, What's The Delict?
MATARAM - West Nusa Tenggara DPRD member H Najamuddin Moestafa admitted that he was ready to provide clarification to the NTB Regional Police after the viral debate between him and police officers who were on guard at the PPKM Mataram isolation post.
"In the video, once again, I never mentioned the police institution at all. There were people on duty there. I asked what the basis for asking for a vaccine certificate was at the isolation post, even if I asked it, it's normal, just like other people," he said. Najamuddin told reporters in Mataram, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 16.
According to the Chairman of the Honorary Board (BK) of the NTB DPRD, he has never done anything against the law, especially the police. Najamuddin emphasized that he did not discredit or corner the police institution.
It's just that he regretted the insistence of the police officers on duty at the blocking post by asking for a certificate of vaccination for traffic users who crossed the border area of Mataram City and West Lombok in Gerimak.
He reasoned, if referring to the Circular (SE) of the Governor of NTB Zulkiflimansyah regarding the implementation of the Micro PPKM, there was no clause that said he had to show the vaccine certificate.
"So, their basis for asking for a vaccine letter was what I asked for. But they were 'keukueh' and insisted, but when I asked for the vaccine for me and the driver couldn't either. The vaccination officer was also not at the location at that time," said Najamuddin.
He said that he did not intend to go down to Gerimak Segregation Post on purpose, so he got involved in a "fight" with the police at that time.
However, continued Najamuddin, as a member of the council, he felt compelled to see many community members going to a number of areas in NTB, starting from Central Lombok, East Lombok and those very far away. Even the passengers who use buses from Sumbawa, Dompu and Bima districts.
"Imagine people being asked to come back, where our conscience sees them having been far from home being told to come back. These are people looking for food to Mataram but asked to come back," he said
Moreover, he said, the supply of food and fruit for Mataram residents has been supplied by farmers from outside Mataram. Among them, Central Lombok, Central Lombok, East Lombok to Sumbawa.
"How can we not be called down to the Insulation Post. This is a matter of conscience and my responsibility as a representative of the people, which is sad that many vegetable traders from Sembalun, East Lombok, rice traders from Central Lombok and fish traders have to be willing to turn around because they can't bring a certificate. I have the vaccine. I feel sad to see thousands of residents who have come all the way, but have not yet reached Mataram, they have been asked to return home, "explained Najamuddin.
"Once again, my attitude was without planning. It was purely spontaneous. And, if for example I was summoned by the NTB Police, what would be the offense? But, until now, I have not been summoned by the police," said Najamuddin.
Najamuddin also assessed that his actions did not violate the law and contained criminal elements or hindered police performance. In addition, he admitted that what he conveyed was also his duty as a representative of the people.
"I don't think there is a criminal element. I also speak because as representatives of the people, there is an inherent right that we must also voice what concerns the lives of many people," said the member of the PAN faction of the NTB DPRD.
Therefore, Najamuddin hopes that the implementation of PPKM, both Micro and Emergency, which is currently running in NTB, must also be accompanied by massive socialization to the community. In addition, the preparation of PPE for the people. Among them, masks and spraying of disinfectants must also be intensively carried out on all streets and residential areas of residents in all areas of NTB.
