Same-sex Massage Parlors In Medan Camouflage Use Of Luxury Homes
JAKARTA - A gay prostitution syndicate was revealed in Medan, North Sumatra. It took several years until finally the sex business using the massage parlor was caught and exposed by the police.
Recruited by the North Sumatra Regional Police General Criminal Investigation Directorate Kombes Irwan Anwar said that in this case eleven people were named as suspects. One of them with the initials A is the owner and therapist recruiter.
In addition, the results of examinations and investigations revealed that the prostitution business had been running for about two years. Because, they disguise the action in various ways.
"From the investigation the suspect has been in operation for about two years," said Irwan in his statement, Thursday, June 4.
The disclosure of the prostitution business, continued Irwan, was started because of the suspicion of the officers. So an investigation was carried out and finally ended in a raid, on Sunday, May 31.
During the raid, a condom type contraceptive was found at the location, some of which were used. In addition, sex toys were also found at that location.
Meanwhile, the therapists or masseuses and guests who come there are all men. This fact reinforces that massage parlors are only a mode of prostitution crime.
"The results of the investigation, the client or patient are all male. So it becomes strange if a condom or contraceptive device is found at the TKP," said Irwan.
The mansion becomes camouflageApart from using massage parlors as a mode, this prostitution syndicate also uses luxury homes located in the Taman Setiabudi Indah (Tasbih) II housing complex, Jalan Outerringroad, Gagak Hitam, Medan Sunggal District, Medan City to hide their actions.
The use of luxury homes is considered to minimize the suspicion of the surrounding community. Moreover, the level of socialization in luxury housing is very minimal when compared to public housing.
"Suspect A served as the provider of the place. But the house did not belong to him, the status was a contract," said Irwan.
To minimize the risk of the gay dictionary prostitution business being discovered by the public, the suspects have a group in a short message application. Later, consumers in that group can easily arrange for the services of a therapist.
"They have communication between them (the suspects) at the location with service users. From what we study there is a group they use," said Irwan.
For now, the case is still being developed to track down consumers of gay prostitution syndicates. Meanwhile, the main suspect, A, will be charged under Law number 21 of 2007 concerning the eradication of trafficking in persons with a maximum threat of 15 years imprisonment and a fine of at least Rp120 million and a maximum of Rp600 million.
Meanwhile, other suspects who are therapists will be charged under Article 296 of the Criminal Code concerning helping or facilitating the occurrence of obscene acts.
