League 1 Starts Again, These Are 3 Requirements From Persija Jakarta

JAKARTA - The League 1 competition is rumored to be starting again after being stalled due to the global COVID-19. Possibly the most prestigious event in national football starts in October 2020.

Persija Jakarta is one of the clubs supporting the plan. However, there are three conditions put forward by the club nicknamed the Kemayoran Tigers.

"The first requirement is to ensure that the COVID-19 outbreak is rampant. Therefore, the kick-off should be held in October,"

Persija Sports Director, Ferry Paulus

Persija also hopes that the competition can be centered on the island of Java. This is so that the team can use land transportation and reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.

The second condition, Persija asked for club subsidies to be increased and asked for an active role from the government. The reason is, currently the club's income is very minimal.

There is no more income from sponsors and audience tickets due to the COVID-19 event. Subsidies are the only hope to finance club operations.

"The government (is expected) to provide relief for stadium fees, taxes and other match costs," said Ferry Paulus.

The last condition, Kemayoran Macan asked PSSI to renegotiate with the Indonesian Professional Players Association (APPI). This of course has to do with contracts and player salaries.
