JAKARTA - The number of poor people in Southeast Sulawesi Province in March 2021 was recorded at 318.70 thousand people, an increase of 16.88 thousand people compared to March 2020 according to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). As reported by Antara, Thursday, July 15, the Coordinator of the Social Statistics Function Southeast Sulawesi BPS Ahmad Luqman in a BPS press release received in Kendari, Thursday, said that when compared to conditions in September 2020 the number of poor people in Southeast Sulawesi increased by 1.38 thousand people. The percentage of poor people in Southeast Sulawesi in March 2021 was 11. 66 percent, down 0.03 percentage point compared to September 2020 and up 0.66 percentage point compared to March 2020.
In March 2021, Ahmad explained, the percentage of poor people in urban areas was 7.66 percent, up 0.04 points compared to September 2020, and the percentage of poor people in rural areas was 13.89 percent, down 0.04 points from September 2020. in September 2020, the number of poor people in urban areas in March 2021 increased by 1.83 thousand from 73.22 thousand people in September 2020 to 75.05 thousand people in March 2021. Meanwhile in rural areas, the number of poor people decreased by 0.45 thousand people from 244.10 thousand people in September 2020 to 243.65 thousand people in March 2021.
