Jakarta Delays Announcement Of PSBB To Be Extended Or Not
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has postponed the plan to announce the Jakarta Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) period which will expire tomorrow, June 4. Originally, a press statement regarding the decision to extend or terminate the PSBB was scheduled for today, Wednesday 3 June.
As for the announcement of the PSBB being extended or not, it was originally broadcast live online via the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's Youtube and Facebook accounts.
"The Governor of DKI Jakarta will provide a press statement regarding the status of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in the DKI Jakarta area, at 17.00 WIB this afternoon," wrote the announcement sent by Pemprov's Public Relations, Wednesday, June 3.
However, not long after, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government postponed the planned announcement of the PSBB which had been running for the three phases. The press conference will be held on the last day of the PSBB, which is tomorrow, Thursday, 4 June.
"The press statement regarding the status of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in the DKI Jakarta area which was due to be held at 17.00 WIB this afternoon was postponed until Thursday, June 4, 2020," he said.
Thus, until now there has been no information on whether the PSBB in the Capital City will be extended again or end and change into a new normal during the early days of COVID-19.
For information, the Jakarta PSBB was first implemented in Jakarta on April 10. The legal basis used by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan is Governor Regulation Number 33 of 2020 which regulates the implementation of the PSBB.
In implementing the PSBB, Anies prohibited people from gathering more than five people in public places. the goal is to reduce the potential for interaction. Anies also extended the policy period for implementing work and studying at home, halting religious activities, closing tourist attractions, and limiting the intensity of transportation.
There are several sectors of work that are still allowed to have activities in the workplace, namely all government offices, both central and regional, representative offices of foreign countries or international organizations, and State / Regional Owned Enterprises.
Then, there are 11 private business or office sectors that are still allowed to do activities, namely health, food / food / beverage, energy, communication and information technology, finance, logistics, hospitality, construction, strategic industries, basic services, public utilities and industries designated as national vital objects and certain objects, as well as the sector of daily needs.
Then, the operation of public transportation is also restricted, in line with school policies, work and worship from home. Private vehicles are also prohibited from carrying passengers of more than 50 percent capacity.
When you want to travel outside Jabodetabek, people are required to make an exit and entry permit (SIKM). Likewise, residents from outside Jabodetabek who will enter Jakarta. If they do not have SIKM, they will be asked to return to their place of origin or be quarantined for 14 days.
