Luhut And Ma'ruf Disagree On COVID-19, PAN Asks The Government To Coordinate

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPR RI PAN faction, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, advised the government to further strengthen coordination in order to avoid differences of opinion before conveying it to the public.

"I ask the government to make the best coordination regarding the information that will be conveyed to the public," said Saleh, Thursday, July 15.

The difference of opinion is between Vice President Maruf Amin and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan.

Vice President Maruf said that the government was currently helter-skelter in handling the surge in confirmed cases of COVID-19. On the other hand, Coordinating Minister Luhut said that the COVID-19 case in Indonesia was under control.

The member of Commission IX of the DPR regretted the different statements made by the state officials. According to Saleh, this should not have happened. Because he said, disagreements in the government would make people confused in the midst of a pandemic.

"Information like this will lead to various interpretations in the community, because what the Vice President and the Coordinating Minister for Investment said are actually different," he concluded.
