Viral Mayor Of Lubuklinggau Reminds PPKM Operation: It Is The Crowd That Is Dissolved, Not The Traders

JAKARTA - Lubuklinggau Mayor Prana Putra Sohe's video briefing has gone viral on social media. The Mayor of Lubuklinggau emphasized that he would not prohibit traders from selling, but not to cause a crowd.

“We do not prohibit people from selling, which we prohibit crowds. They (traders) are looking for food, not looking for money, if we disperse, if (trade) is wasted, it's a pity," said Lubukinggau Mayor Prana Putra Sohe in a video uploaded to his Instagram account quoted on Wednesday, July 14.

In his briefing, the Mayor of Lubuklinggau asked the officers to act humanely. Officers are asked to understand how to prevent crowds, not prohibit traders from selling.

“I ask that street vendors must be humane. If he doesn't cause a crowd, that's fine. If they cause a crowd, the crowd will be disciplined, not the traders," said the Mayor of Lubuklinggau.

Joint officers are also reminded to tighten surveillance of citizens to comply with health protocols.

"After this assignment at the post, comb those who don't wear masks, please ask for push-ups. As soon as you get on the motorbike, don't wear a mask and ask to get out.

Regarding micro PPKM, the Mayor of Lubuklinggau emphasized that all parties must work together to break the chain of spread of COVID-19.

"For traders, there is no prohibition against selling, but stick to the procedures. I have told the officers in the field to carry out their duties in a humane way. It is the crowd that is disciplined, not the traders," said Prana Putra Sohe in his statement.
