To Avoid Bullying, Twitter Presents A Limitation Feature On Tweet Replies
JAKARTA - Twitter is reported to have added a new feature that might prevent bullying for its users when uploading tweets. This feature can customize who can reply to their tweets after they are uploaded.
Not a few are found in the user's tweet when uploaded to get a lot of annoying replies. Therefore, Twitter launched this feature so that Twitter users can limit who can reply to tweets, as quoted from TechCrunch, Wednesday, July 14.
This feature is unlimited, so anyone on Twitter can use the feature. Previously, users were able to limit who could reply to a tweet while it was being created.
However, they can't change the options in their tweets to limit replies once uploaded. So, the presence of the tweet reply limit feature can help users to ensure that their tweets are safe from public attacks, especially when their uploads have the potential to attract attention.
Furthermore, Twitter also said this new feature will include options that can limit replies from someone on a user's tweet. Not only that, this feature also has options that include limiting replies to people you follow, everyone, or only people who are mentioned.
Apparently, the limit feature of tweet replies is more useful than the mute option, which can completely cut off conversations between users. In fact, the microblogging network has added an option to limit replies to tweets since August last year, but hasn't been able to adjust the reply limit yet.
The company's reply limit feature was introduced to promote healthier conversational interactions on Twitter. It is hoped that it will help users feel safer from social media abuse, such as sexual harassment.
