Controversy Requests Special Hospital Officials Up To ICU, PAN Again Seeking Attention?
JAKARTA - The National Mandate Party (PAN) is in the public spotlight because of the controversial statements of its cadres.
After the Deputy Secretary General of PAN, Rosaline Irene Rumaseuw asked for the construction of a special hospital for officials, now it is the turn of the Chair of the PAN faction of the DPR, Saleh Partaonan Daulay.
In a meeting with the Ministry of Health yesterday, it was considered that Saleh wanted to be privileged as a member of the DPR to get an ICU room.
So, are these PAN politicians intentionally noisy to get the attention of the public and the government in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic?
"Yes, it looks like that (getting attention, ed). The only problem is that what Mrs. Rosaline said was wrong, it actually harmed PAN. So PAN itself must clarify and apologize for Mrs. Rosaline's statement, "said a political observer from Al Azhar University Indonesia, Ujang Komaruddin to VOI, Wednesday, July 14.
Ujang understands that every political party is looking for a stage and looking for momentum to increase its prestige and electability.
"It's only recently that what the PAN elite, including Mrs. Rosaline, has done that is contrary to the wishes of the people," he explained.
Even with the statement of Saleh Daulay. Actually, said Ujang, the words of the legislator from North Sumatra were one of his duties as a representative of the people who issued warnings to his partners, in this case the Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin.
Where, there is a member of the House of Representatives, especially from the PAN faction, John Siffy Mirrin, who was infected with COVID-19 and died because he was treated too late because he did not get an ICU room.
"But it doesn't mean that the death of a DPR member from PAN is a justification for looking for excuses to build a hospital and others," explained Ujang.
However, there are positive things that can be captured from Saleh's statement. He reminded the Minister of Health to provide more ICU rooms, because even members of the House of Representatives cannot receive treatment, let alone ordinary people.
"I still see positive things from Pak Saleh because he corrected, reminded the Minister of Health to provide more ICUs. The facts on the ground are like that," he said.
"This means that when members of the DPR have difficulty finding the ICU, let alone ordinary people. This is what the DPR must pay attention to, including the Minister of Health," added Ujang.
Previously, the Chairman of the PAN DPP, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, felt sorry for the death of a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PAN faction, John Siffy Mirin, due to Corona. Saleh does not want any members of the House of Representatives who do not get an ICU room at the hospital.
This was stated by Saleh at the Commission IX meeting on Tuesday, July 13, and was attended virtually by Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin.
"I don't want to hear, for example, that there are members of the DPR who can't get an ICU, like what happened to my brother, John Siffy Mirin, a member of the DPR from Papua, the National Mandate Party Faction," said Saleh.
