Positive For COVID-19, Central Sulawesi Governor Rusdy Mastura: God Has Other Wills

JAKARTA - Central Sulawesi Governor Rusdy Mastura confirmed he was positive for COVID-19, along with Deputy Governor Ma'mun Amir. Both found out after doing the test.

"After undergoing the Polymerase Chain Reaction or PCR COVID-19 swab test, I was confirmed positive for COVID-19 but my condition is asymptomatic. My body is healthy and fit," he said in Palu City, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, July 14.

Even though he explained that he had implemented health protocols (prokes) to prevent the transmission and spread of COVID-19 so as not to be exposed to COVID-19, such as requiring anyone who wants to meet him either at his private residence or the Central Sulawesi Governor's Office to undergo a COVID-19 antigen test.

In addition, he has also stopped traveling outside the area to prevent crowds from forming between officials, between officials and residents and between residents and residents.

"But God has other plans. To protect the people around me, I am self-isolating at home," he said.

Therefore, he appealed to the public to always implement prokes so as not to be exposed and protect others from the threat of exposure to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations (Humas) of the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government Public Relations and Protocol Bureau Adiman stated that according to the results of the PCR swab on July 13, the Governor and Deputy Governor of Central Sulawesi were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

"So to maintain our health together, the Governor and Deputy Governor of Central Sulawesi Starting today, Wednesday, will carry out self-isolation until the PCR swab results are released which state that they are cured or negative for COVID-19," he explained.

The Governor and Deputy Governor of Central Sulawesi, said Adiman, will run the government virtually.

"The Governor and Deputy Governor of Central Sulawesi will continue to ensure that the wheels of government and public services will run through the regional secretary and technical Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) to the community," he said.
