Monitoring Student Vaccinations, Jokowi: 19 Thousand Children Will Get Door To Door Vaccination Services
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo reviewed the implementation of vaccinations for junior and senior high school students held by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN). Jokowi reviewed virtually via video conference connection.
Today, BIN is vaccinating 49 thousand students. In detail, there are 15 thousand junior high school students and 15 thousand high school students. In addition, there are 19 thousand children who will receive door to door vaccination services.
In his remarks from the State Palace, Jokowi appreciated students who were willing to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
"I express my gratitude and highest appreciation for the implementation of vaccination this morning for all of my children, both in junior high and high school," Jokowi said in a Youtube video broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, Wednesday, July 14.
Jokowi had a dialogue with two students and asked about their condition after being vaccinated. Jokowi said the student did not feel any pain after being vaccinated.
"So, children who have not been vaccinated, who have not been injected, don't have to be afraid. It doesn't hurt," he said.
Therefore, Jokowi asked his staff to ensure that all teachers and other education personnel have received vaccination injections in order to create communal immunity or herd immunity in the school environment.
"I want to convey that after all the children have been vaccinated, please also check so that teachers and school staff do not miss their vaccinations. We want to encourage all of these vaccinations to be accelerated so that communal immunity can be achieved and we can avoid COVID-19 ," he explained.
Continuing, the Head of BIN Budi Gunawan reported to Jokowi that the vaccination for students and from house to house held by BIN was carried out in 14 provinces in the epicenter area.
"There are 15 regencies/cities and 32 points, namely in DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, Special Region of Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi and Papua," said Budi at SMPN 103 Cijantung.
Budi said that his party had studied the door-to-door vaccination events carried out in a number of countries to increase the level of community participation. This activity is also carried out by following the health protocol standards.
"The door-to-door vaccination method that we use adopts door-to-door vaccination used by several countries that have been able to increase participation, reach families who do not have access and who are afraid to go out to avoid contracting COVID-19," he said. .
