Ex-Regent Talaud Sri Wahyumi's Luxury Bag Sells At Auction For Rp. 15 Million, But Diamond Earrings Are Not Looked At

JAKARTA - The KPK together with the Jakarta III State Property and Auction Service Office (KPKNL) have successfully auctioned off a luxury bag belonging to the former Talaud Islands Regent Sri Wahyumi Maria Manalip at a price of Rp. 15 million.

The auction of the stolen goods was based on the decision of the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court Number: 92/Pid.Sus-TPK/2019/JKT.PST dated December 9, 2019 on behalf of Sri Wahyumi Maria Manalip who had permanent legal force or inkrah.

"Out of the two auction objects, one selling gray Balenciaga brand women's bag along with the box stored in a red bag bearing the words ELLE Paris was sold at a price of Rp. 15 million from the initial bid price of Rp. 14,803,000.00," said Plt. KPK Spokesperson for Prevention Ipi Maryati Kuding in her statement quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 13.

For one auction object that has not been sold, namely a set of white gold earrings with diamonds with a limit price of Rp. 28,645,000.00 and a security deposit of Rp. 8 million.

"For other auction objects that have not been sold, will be auctioned again at the next opportunity," said Ipi.

Regarding the case, the KPK on Thursday, April 29 again detained Sri Wahyumi after being named a suspect in the alleged case of receiving gratuities.

Meanwhile, Sri Wahyumi has served a 2-year prison term in connection with the case that ensnared him previously, namely the bribery in the auction for the revitalization of the Lirung Market and the revitalization of the Beo Market, Talaud Islands Regency, North Sulawesi in 2019.

The KPK then immediately arrested and detained Sri Wahyumi again. Sri Wahyumi is suspected of receiving gratuities worth Rp. 9.5 billion.

In addition, Ipi continued, the KPK together with the Medan KPKNL, Tuesday, July 6, also auctioned off the stolen goods based on the decision of the Corruption Court at the Medan District Court Number: 5/Pid.Sus-TPK/2021/PN.Mdn dated April 8, 2021 on behalf of The convicted former Regent of North Labuhanbatu Khairuddin Syah alias Haji Buyung.

"The auction item is a Suzuki Type GC415-APV DLX car in the name of Erni Ariyanti. The auction object was sold for Rp. 71 million from the initial bid price of Rp. 58,325,000.00," said Ipi.

On Thursday, April 8, Khairuddin was sentenced by the panel of judges at the Medan Corruption Court to 1 year and 6 months in prison and a fine of IDR 100 million subsidiary to 2 months in prison in the bribery case for the management of the 2017 APBN-P Special Allocation Fund (DAK) and the 2018 APBN for the Regency. Ipi said that the auction of stolen goods from the property of the perpetrators of corruption that had been legally confiscated is one form of fulfilling asset recovery from the proceeds of criminal acts of corruption.
