Luhut Predicts Pandemic To Improve In 5 Days, Mardani PKS: People Need Action Not Promises
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan predicts that the pandemic condition in Indonesia could improve in the next four to five days, if all points of handling COVID-19 transmission run optimally.
"I think with the implementation of vaccination, then PPKM runs simultaneously, medicine and oxygen, then beds, I see that in the next four to five days the situation will improve," Luhut said in a virtual press conference on Monday, July 12.
Responding to this statement, the chairman of the PKS DPP, Mardani Ali Sera, emphasized that what the community needs now is not mere talk, but action and concrete evidence.
According to him, rather than predicting and boasting, it would be better if the government proved capable of overcoming COVID-19 in the country. The reason is, to this day drugs and oxygen even in the treatment room are difficult to obtain.
"People need action, not promises. Oxygen and medicine are still difficult and prices are high. Expand field hospitals and COVID-19 emergency hospitals," said Mardani, Tuesday, July 13.
The member of Commission II of the DPR also questioned why Luhut had to wait five days to improve conditions, wouldn't the sooner the better? Because many Indonesians have died due to Covid.
"People can't wait long. Thousands of people have died, many have not received hospital services because of weak anticipation," said Mardani.
