Temasek With Conglomerates Prajogo Pangestu, Eka Tjipta Widjaja, TP Rachmat To Sukanto Tanoto Donate A Total Of 11,000 Oxygen Concentrators
JAKARTA - The Temasek Foundation and 15 Indonesian and Singaporean companies have shown a sense of concern and brotherhood again by donating medical equipment in the form of Oxygen Concentrators (OC) for the handling of COVID-19 in Indonesia.
The current increase in COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, is considered to require speed of health care, especially for those who need treatment in hospital.
As of July 13, 2021, the Temasek Foundation together with 15 Indonesian and Singaporean companies have collected 11,000 Oxygen Concentrators for Indonesia. A total of 1,500 units of the aid, Tuesday, July 13, were dispatched from Shanghai to Jakarta.
The handover ceremony was held in Beijing, witnessed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to China, Djauhari Oratmangun at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Beijing.
This Oxygen Concentrators assistance is addressed to the Indonesian Ministry of Health which will then be sent to various hospitals and other health facilities in Indonesia. Subsequent deliveries are planned in stages every week.
The 15 Indonesian and Singaporean companies that collaborated with the Temasek Foundation in providing donations this time are Bakti Barito Foundation (owned by conglomerate Prajogo Pangestu), Cikarang Listrindo, Dharma Satya Nusantara, East Ventures, Indies Capital Partners, Kino Indonesia, Sinar Mas (owned by the late Eka Tjota Widjaja), Tanoto Foundation (owned by Sukanto Tanoto), TBS Energi Utama, Triputra Group (owned by TP Rachmat), UID Foundation, Wahana Artha, CapitaLand Hope Foundation, DBS Bank, and Singtel.
Jennie Chua, Chairperson of the Temasek International Foundation, said that the emergence of a new type of COVID-19 virus that is more contagious requires fast cooperation and support from all parties, both in Indonesia and Singapore, in overcoming this outbreak.
"The Temasek Foundation and the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore facilitate cooperation and collaboration between various parties, both Indonesia and Singapore, in an effort to quickly help Indonesia overcome the current pandemic situation," Jennie explained in a written statement.
The Oxygen Concentrators assistance, he continued, is expected to be able to assist efforts to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, and also reflect the good relations and close friendship between Indonesia and Singapore.
"Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore has collaborated with the Temasek Foundation to distribute various kinds of assistance for handling COVID-19 in Indonesia," he explained.
