Kediri Hunts For Oxygen Filled Outside The Region, TNI-Polri Take Out Trucks To Queue
JAKARTA - The City Government of Kediri, East Java, is hunting for oxygen contents outside the area to meet the needs of patients, especially those exposed to COVID-19.
"Oxygen is not very safe until now. Forkopimda also continues to move. The Head of the Kediri City Police, Dandim, must also take out trucks to queue for oxygen in Gresik," said Kediri Mayor Abdullah Abu Bakar in Kediri, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 12.
It is already preparing to hold a meeting with the vendor. This is done because the need for oxygen supply is very large. What's more, those who are exposed to COVID-19, the need for oxygen is high if the saturation is low.
He acknowledged that the need for oxygen is not only from Kediri, but in all regions in Indonesia. For that, the city government must also prepare oxygen, to help patients being treated.
For this reason, he also asked residents to always be careful to maintain health as an effort to prevent exposure to COVID-19. Moreover, in the city of Kediri, the availability of beds or beds in a number of hospitals is almost full. Of the 500 beds, there are about 200 Kediri residents being treated, while the others are patients from outside Kediri.
It is also trying hard so as not to lack of beds in the hospital. Residents who are confirmed positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms will be isolated in a centralized isolation area, those who are sick with mild symptoms and above are treated at Kilisuci Hospital, Kediri City, while those with severe symptoms are referred to referral hospitals including Gambiran Hospital, Kediri City.
He added, in the city of Kediri there are three centralized isolation rooms. One point in the Kediri City BLK is full, and if there are more patients, they will be treated in other isolation places.
"The centralized isolation room at one point is full. The GNI will soon be occupied, hopefully it won't be used. I see a decrease. Because this emergency PPKM has a very good impact, but the hospital is not good, because it's still full," he said.
The Kediri City Police Chief, AKBP Wahyudi, revealed from the monitoring carried out by members that the temporary oxygen supply was safe.
"If there is any real information, we are ready to follow up," said the Kediri City Police Chief.
Last week, the Mayor of Kediri Abdullah Abu Bakar and the forkopimda also carried out sudden inspections (sidak) to the oxygen cylinder supply company, PT Samator and drug stores to ensure sufficient stock amid the high number of patients in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
From the inspection results, the availability of oxygen for the City of Kediri is still safe. This increasing demand for oxygen also does not affect the price because it is still the same during normal situations.
However, due to the current surge in the increase in COVID-19 cases, it turns out that the company is also overwhelmed in meeting the oxygen needs in hospitals. Hospitals need more oxygen than ever before.
In Kediri City, as of Monday, July 12, there were 1,760 people who were confirmed positive for COVID-19. There are 160 people who are still being treated, 1,412 people are still being treated, 188 people have died
