TransJakarta Passengers Experience A Decrease In Passengers Of Up To 200 Thousand People During Emergency PPKM
JAKARTA - PT Transport Jakarta (TransJakarta) passengers experienced a decline during the implementation of the Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).
Director of Services and Development of PT Transportation Jakarta Achmad Izzul Waro said the decline in passengers reached 50 percent with an average of only 200 thousand per day.
"During the pandemic we have approximately 400,000 customers per day. During the Emergency PPKM we have 200 thousand," said Achmad Izzul Waro at a virtual press conference in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 12.
Achmad Izzul Waro said that his party is also monitoring the development of the number of passengers when the Worker Registration Certificate (STRP) will be implemented for passengers who will use TransJakarta services.
"We don't know if that number will move again during this STRP mass. We will continue to monitor it," said Izzul Waro.
PT Transportation Jakarta requires passengers to have STRP starting July 12 related to the implementation of Emergency PPKM in DKI Jakarta and surrounding areas.
The STRP policy for TransJakarta passengers follows up on the Circular Letter (SE) of the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Number 49 of 2021 concerning changes to the Minister of Transportation's SE Number 43 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Land Transportation during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
However, TransJakarta is still conducting socialization to passengers regarding STRP as a condition for traveling until July 13, 2021.
