The Village Head Holds A Celebration At The Village Office When The Emergency PPKM Doesn't Have A Permit Bag, Police Immediately Check

BANYUWANGI - Police said the wedding ceremony held by the Head of Temuguruh Village, Sempu District, Banyuwangi, East Java, during the Emergency PPKM was not licensed or recommended by the COVID-19 Task Force.

This was known after the police asked for information from the Covid-19 Task Force in Sempu District.

"So there is no (permit) either from us, the Regency Task Force or from the Subdistrict Task Force," said Banyuwangi Police Chief, AKBP Nasrun Pasaribu, Monday, July 12.

AKBP Nasrun said his party was still examining witnesses and gathering evidence related to this case.

"We will collect the evidence first. Please be patient, we will continue to investigate. We will call the village head this week and ask for information. For what? To be clear, is the information true or not," he said.

Inspections are also carried out to ensure whether the implementation of the activities does not comply with the Emergency PPKM rules.

"Is it true that the implementation of the activity was a crowd. Is it true that the warning given by the police or the sub-district task force was not heeded by the village head.

If a criminal element is found, said Nasrun, it will be processed in accordance with the applicable law.

"Later, according to the evidence, of course we will process (law). There is already a law that regulates both fines and imprisonment," he continued.

As previously reported, a video of a celebration event at the village office in Banyuwangi, East Java, has gone viral on social media.

The party who held the celebration was the head of Temuguruh Village, Sempu District, Banyuwangi, with the initials AS.
