Jogja Local Trains Only For Essential And Critical Workers
YOGYAKARTA - Passenger restrictions for train travel are also applied to local trains in the working area of PT KAI Operational Area 6 Yogyakarta. Passengers who are allowed to board the local train are only office workers in essential and critical sectors.
"The restrictions will be in effect from today until July 20 in accordance with the SE of the Ministry of Transportation Number 50 of 2021," said Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Operational Region 6 Yogyakarta Supriyanto as quoted by Antara, Monday, July 12.
Local trains in the working area of PT KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta that carry out these regulations are the Perintis Batara Kresna train for the Purwosari-Wonogiri connection, and the Adi Sumarmo International Airport train for the Klaten-Solo Balapan-Adi Sumarmo airport.
In addition, the Prambanan Express train for the Yogyakarta-Kutoarjo connection, which is now operated by a subsidiary of PT KAI, namely PT KAI Commuter will also only serve travelers who are workers in the essential and critical sectors.
Every local train customer is required to show a worker registration certificate or other certificate issued by the local government to the officer at the station before boarding the train.
"You can also show a letter of assignment signed by a company leader or a minimum echelon 2 official and a wet stamp or electronic signature," he said.
Officers at the station will strictly check all the travel requirements before allowing passengers to board the train.
If there are incomplete travel conditions, passengers are prohibited from boarding the train and ticket money will be refunded 100 percent.
Workers in essential sectors who can take advantage of rail transportation during Emergency PPKM are workers in finance and banking, capital markets, information and communication technology, non-COVID-19 quarantine handling hotels, and export-oriented industries.
Meanwhile, critical sectors include health, security and public order, disaster management, energy, logistics, transportation and distribution, food and beverages, fertilizers and petrochemicals, cement and building materials, national vital objects, national strategic projects, construction and basic utilities.
The tightening of travel requirements is expected to suppress the mobility of people who use rail transportation during the Emergency PPKM period.
