Highlight Lois Owien Since December 2020, Dr. Tirta: What Is Your Intention To Spread Hoaks?
JAKARTA - Doctor Tirta Mandira Hudhi claimed to have highlighted the social media of Lois Owien, a doctor who does not believe in the existence of COVID-19, since December 2020. The reason is, Dr. Lois Owien is considered to be spreading false narratives regarding the corona virus that is infecting the world's population.
"Initially Lois appeared on Twitter in December 2020. Her Facebook in the same month that made the COVID hoax narrative didn't exist. At that time, her social assistance agency called IDI officials stupid, stupid and idiot. We think of him as an ordinary fake account, it's really stupid with people like this," said Dr Tirta to VOI, Monday, July 12.
Doctor Tirta admitted that he did not know Dr. Lois before. Until one day, Dr. Lois contacted Dr. Tirta personally via an electronic message via WhatsApp claiming that COVID-19 actually didn't exist.
"On February 12 he answered my WA. The point is to say that Covid does not exist, indeed we continue to argue until I upload this to a real account or not," he said.
Actually, said Dr. Tirta, he had reported the woman who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Christian University (UKI) to the authorities on charges of spreading false news. However, at that time he did not have enough evidence, including real or fake Lois social media accounts.
"Since February, I have actually reported this to IDI, the Ministry of Health and the police. Only at that time there was no evidence that this person was real or not. Fake accounts are difficult," explained Dr. Tirta.
However, over time the Solo-born doctor was furious because Lois always made controversial statements, even calling vaccines poison. Until finally, the famous lawyer Hotman Paris invited the two to a talk show that was broadcast on television and went viral on social media.
"For months issuing false narratives, about vaccines being useless, vaccines poisoning. The point is that all of them are hoaxes. Then finally Mr. Hotman Paris was able to bring him in. Mr. Hotman said to invite me, but I said 'if I come, I must have permission from IDI', just over the phone, please," he said.
During the event, Dr. Tirta then questioned Lois and asked her to clarify.
"When the call came, the debate was severe. I asked Lois to apologize for her statement to IDI. I asked for clarification about COVID, there was no one, eh she was nagging and even challenged to be reported to the police live. And the video spread (on social media, ed), then various people take advantage of, the point is that there is no Covid," said Dr Tirta.
"Finally, on Saturday, July 10, at 3 p.m. the police arrested him. Then at that time I was made a witness with friends of IDI officials, there were Dr. Pukovisa, Dr. Adit and Dr. Prof. Riyanto, there was Dr. Daeng and Dr. Riyadi. At that time I'm a witness. So I'm not the one reporting it. That's not a report, it's a type A outbreak without complaints," he continued.
In addition to being handled by the police for hoax news, Dr. Tirta also said that his party also made a complaint against Lois Owien for the alleged insult to the medical professional organization to IDI.
"So the triple (complaint, red), IDI, and the Ministry of Health are also insulted, because he posted a photo of the Ministry of Health saying it was a hoax. So we are witnesses, why are we like this, because he spreads information that is very disturbing for handling outbreaks and hoaxes and many people believe it," he explained.
When asked why he often debated with Dr. Lois, Dr. Tirta said that because Lois' statements often made a lot of noise. Lois, he said, also always refuses to be invited to meet face-to-face and always avoids it.
"I often debate, yes, it's not just me, doctor friends, he debates. And we have invited him to come to the IDI office, the invitation was officially rejected on the grounds that knowledge is expensive, so let the police take care of it. This is Our form of resistance is doctors, health workers, the Ministry of Communication and Information and the Ministry of Health together with the Police to eradicate hoaxes," he explained.
"Our country is already difficult, don't make it worse by hoaxes," added Dr. Tirta, reminding him.
Doctor Tirta also doubted Lois' doctorate because he did not have a registration certificate (STR) from the Indonesian Medical Console (KKI). In fact, he said, it was not clear where Lois graduated from.
He said that the 2017 STR contained Lois' name. However, it is unknown whether the Lois listed is Lois Owien.
"So this is not a doctor, we object if he is called a doctor. Because this person is not clear which doctor graduated. If you want to be called a doctor from 2017 to 2021, where will he go? There is no practice, no seminars are taken, IDI is not extended. 4 years have disappeared. "December suddenly appeared," said Dr. Tirta.
"That's what we're looking for. What is your intention? What is your intention? Why do you want to play against the community. Did someone tell you to do this? That was what the police dug up, what was your intention?," he said surprised.
