JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Pusat Jusuf Kalla submitted the decision on the paid individual vaccination plan to the government by considering the quota for the number of paid vaccines which is smaller than the free COVID-19 vaccination program.

"We will hand it over to the government ourselves," said Jusuf Kalla when reviewing the mass vaccination of the PMI Central in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 12.

The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2004-2009 and 2014-2019 periods said that the portion of free vaccination for the people was much larger than the quota for paid individual vaccinations.

"Most of them are much bigger free ones which are government programs for the people," he said.

Therefore, he continued, PMI will support the free vaccination program to encourage group immunity in controlling COVID-19 by participating in holding mass vaccinations.

On that occasion, PMI Pusat held a mass vaccination with a daily target of 1,000 people using the Sinovac brand vaccine.

The free mass vaccination, which is planned to be held for one week, is expected to support the government's efforts, which are currently boosting the vaccination of people over the age of 12.

The plan, he continued, is that similar vaccinations will be held in other big cities, including Surabaya, Bandung and Makassar.

Paid Vaccines Postponed

Meanwhile, previously PT Kimia Farma Tbk postponed the paid individual Gotong Royong vaccination schedule which was initially on Monday because it would still extend socialization. cities in Java and Bali.

According to the plan, there will be eight sales points for the vaccine through the company's clinic network, namely three in Jakarta, and one each in Bandung, Solo, Semarang, Surabaya, and Bali.

Based on government regulations, the price of paid vaccine per dose reaches Rp. 321,660 plus the service price of Rp. 117,910 so that per dose of vaccine charged to the recipient is Rp. 439,570 per dose.

With two injections, the complete price of the Gotong Royong vaccine reaches IDR 879,140 per person.
