Luhut About The COVID-19 Pandemic: If Someone Talks Out Of Control, Come To Me!
JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment as the coordinator of Emergency PPKM, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan asked all parties who said that the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia was out of control to meet him in person.
Luhut said he would show directly to other parties who still think that Indonesia is collapsing, 'beaten up' by the pandemic, how the government controls the current COVID-19 response.
"If someone says that the situation is out of control, it is very, very controlled. So those who talk about it are not under control, they can come to me. Later I will show them that we are under control," Luhut said in a Youtube video broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, Monday, July 12
Luhut admitted that there was currently a surge in COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, resulting in the depletion of the availability of treatment beds and the isolation of COVID-19 patients.
However, that does not mean silence. Luhut claimed that the government continues to work on improving the problem of handling the pandemic in Indonesia.
"That we have a problem, I have said many times, yes, we have a lot of problems. We will fix this problem in an orderly manner, because the team works very closely. The president gave a very clear directive, and the president said, incharge of all of this," said Luhut.
"And we as implementers have no problems. We decide everything in an integrated way. We decide everything in an integrated way," he continued.
On this occasion, Luhut explained that the implementation of the emergency PPKM had begun to slowly reduce the level of community mobility.
In addition, the government also continues to increase the bed capacity of COVID-19 patients, accelerate vaccination, and fulfill medicines and oxygen.
"I think with the implementation of vaccination, then PPKM runs simultaneously, medicine and oxygen, then beds, I see in the next 4-5 days the situation will improve," he concluded.
