Not Only Erangel Is Getting More Sophisticated, PUBG Mobile 1.5 Update Adds Tesla Model Y Autonomous Car

JAKARTA - Not long ago, Tencent Games, a game distributor from China, released a version 1.5 update for the PUBG Mobile smartphone game. In this update, the company has added a variety of new content – including content for its collaboration with electric car manufacturer Tesla.

Through this collaboration, PUBG Mobile is now the 'virtual' home of the Tesla Gigafactory. Players can not only explore the Tesla Gigafactory factory building, but can also produce their own Tesla model Y car.

PUBG Mobile version 1.5 represents many updates for this battle royale type game. one update to note is its collaboration with Tesla.

Citing the official PUBG Mobile page on Monday, July 12, Tencent added a fully operational Tesla Gigafactory factory in the Erangel map – one of the earliest and most popular maps. According to the company's explanation, players can access the factory through the Mission Ignition game mode.

Players can activate all the buttons in the Gigafactory factory. Once the button is turned on, players can activate the car-building process. Later, the factory will issue a Tesla model Y SUV.

Amazingly, players can also experience the autonomous pilot mode on the mobile. So, players can attack visible enemies without worrying about the steering wheel when driving a Tesla model Y.

Changes are not only given by Tencent in the form of the Tesla Gigafactory factory. A number of iconic buildings and locations on the Erangel map were also changed by the company.

“Dear Players: look for future technologies in Mission Ignition; explore the Tesla Gigafactory; battle with the best vehicles and weapons; deep improvements for a new and more comfortable experience," the company wrote in a release shared on the official PUBG Mobile website, July 6, 2021.

To get all the new content from this update, players must download the data that has been provided by the company measuring 686 MB for Android devices. As for iOS users, the update data size is 1.64GB.

Every player who has updated the application will later get some gifts from the company. Such as points worth 2,888 BP, 100 AG, and a Victorian Maiden bag skin.

Several locations from the Erangel map have also been changed. As the city which was previously named Pochinki was changed to a Transit Center, Georgopol became a Port of Georgopol, School became a Tech Center, Military Base became a Security Center, Yasnaya Polyana became a Logistics Agency, and Mylta Power became an Energy Center.

The company also added dynamic elements to the game. Such as elevators, automatic doors, and other moving platforms that will appear in residential areas. Not to forget, Tencent also added a new weapon, namely the Abakan ASM which uses 5.56mm ammunition.
