It Turns Out Jordan Pickford Is Interested In Liverpool Goalkeeper Coach, But Club Officials Are Ignorant
JAKARTA - Former Liverpool goalkeeper coach Chris Kirkland claims to have asked the Reds staff to recruit Jordan Pickford. He said at the time, Pickford was the best young goalkeeper he had ever worked with.
However, Liverpool officials preferred to bring in Loris Karius from German club Mainz, which turned out to be a lot of blunders.
Karius was loaned to Besiktas two years later, following the arrival of Brazil goalkeeper Alisson Becker from AS Roma.
Meanwhile, Pickford chose to join rivals Everton in 2017 after a loan spell at Preston North End from Sunderland.
"I told some of the Liverpool staff that Jordan Pickford was the best young goalkeeper I've ever worked with," Kirkland told the Mirror.
“I told them he was going to be something special. But obviously no one was listening and he ended up at Everton!” he continued.
Pickford has starred for England at Euro 2020 and conceded only twice, although the Three Lions ultimately failed to bring home the Henri Delaunay trophy for the second time.

Do Liverpool regret not bringing Pickford to Anfield? Apparently not. They were already relieved by Alisson's presence.
The goalkeeper has helped the Reds win the 2019–20 Premier League trophy, the 2018–19 Champions League and the 2019 Club World Cup. While Pickford has yet to win any trophies.
