Erick Thohir: BUMN Such As Pertamina Et Al Have Distributed 27 ISO Oxygen Tanks To Help Needs In The Pandemic Period

JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir revealed a total of 27 ISO oxygen tanks distributed by state-owned companies to help meet oxygen needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"After yesterday there were 21 ISO Tanks, on Saturday 10 July we got 6 more ISO Tanks from Balikpapan which will be directly distributed to hospitals in Central Java and DI Yogyakarta. A total of 27 ISO Tanks have been distributed by state-owned companies, which can meet the needs of around 540 tons of oxygen," said Erick Thohir as quoted from his official Instagram account @erickthohir in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Sunday, July 11.

According to Erick, currently the need for oxygen to save the people who are fighting against COVID-19 is so high. He asked the Pertamina Fleet to immediately distribute oxygen to hospitals using ISO Tanks.

"Of course, what is no less important at this time is the availability of oxygen. We do not produce oxygen for medical purposes, but the facilities we have now are partially converted for medical purposes," he said.

Of course, Erick Thohir understands the difficulties faced by the board of directors, but of course, don't hesitate to involve the Ministry of SOEs, even the House of Representatives Commission VI itself is very supportive of this transformation.

"Nothing but, we want to support the need for oxygen, which is currently quite alarming. And this is precisely what I emphasize to all directors of our SOEs, they must be service-oriented, not bureaucratic. Never get tired when you have to help the people. " said the Minister of SOEs.

Meanwhile, the Director of Logistics and Infrastructure of PT Pertamina Mulyono, in his statement as quoted from the Instagram account @erickthohir, said that each isotank has a capacity of 20 tons, so there are 27 isotanks so that the total capacity is 540 tons.

"Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin conveyed that the total need for oxygen for national health is 800 tons per day. So our contribution is almost 60 percent of the existing capacity," said Mulyono.

Previously, the Minister of SOEs instructed state-owned companies such as Pertamina and Pupuk Indonesia Group to convert tank trucks to move quickly to help distribute oxygen in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Erick Thohir said that in dealing with the transmission rate of the Delta Covid-19 variant in Indonesia, mutual cooperation from all parties was needed to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 variant of the pandemic.

SOE Minister Erick Thohir stepped in immediately and moved quickly in ensuring the contribution of SOEs to meet oxygen needs for the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially during the implementation of emergency community activity restrictions (PPKM).

According to him, strategic state-owned companies such as Pertamina Group include PGN, Krakatau Steel and Pupuk Indonesia Group, which includes Petrokimia and Pusri. Equally important, Pelindo is actively involved in its logistics infrastructure.
