JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds in several areas in Indonesia. With weather forecasts like this you have to be alert and careful.
Data on the BMKG official website compiled by ANTARA in Jakarta on Sunday stated that the areas that have the potential to experience heavy rain are Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra.
The same weather is also predicted in Lampung, Banten, West Java, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Gorontalo, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku and Papua.
Meanwhile, areas that have the potential for rain that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds are the Riau Islands, Bangka Belitung Islands, South Kalimantan and Central Sulawesi.
The BMKG appealed to the public to be aware of very high waves of 4-6 meters in the West Waters of Aceh, the West Waters of Simeulue Island to the Nias Islands, the West Indian Ocean of Aceh to the Nias Islands, and the South Indian Ocean of Banten to West Nusa Tenggara.
The public also needs to pay attention to warnings for high waves of 2.5-4 meters that have the potential to occur, including in the Flores Sea, Banda Sea, Bengkulu Waters, East Waters of Simeulue Island to Nias Islands, West Waters of the Mentawai Islands, West Lampung Waters, West Indian Ocean, Mentawai Islands.
