Government Prepares ASN Flats In Semarang To Be Places For Isolation Of COVID-19

JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) together with the Central Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) and BNPB are preparing ASN Flats (Rusun) in Semarang to be a place of isolation for people exposed to COVID-19.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that currently the number of people exposed to COVID-19 was not comparable to the availability of isolation places in health facilities.

Therefore, the PUPR Ministry will use the ASN Flats in Semarang to be a place of isolation.

"We will use the ASN Flats in Semarang, Central Java, as a place of isolation," said the Minister of PUPR as quoted by Antara, Friday, July 9.

Currently, he continued, the government will continue to try to help the community and employees of the PUPR Ministry who have been exposed to COVID-19 so that they can quickly return to health.

In addition, for the utilization of the ASN Flats, his party will also coordinate with a number of health facilities, local governments, and the local BNPB so that patient management can run well.

"We also ask the PUPR Ministry employees to continue to implement health protocols and comply with the government's PPKM policies," he said.

The ASN Flats that will be used as isolation facilities in Central Java are Pemali Juwana ASN ASN Flats located in Banyumanik District, Semarang City.

The apartment was built by the Directorate General of Housing, Ministry of PUPR as many as one tower with a height of eight floors.

"The vertical housing has a residential capacity of 95 units of type 45. Currently the PUPR Ministry is preparing supporting facilities for isolation rooms so that they can be used to accommodate COVID-19 patients," said the Minister of PUPR.
