Hard Drugs Produced By A Home Factory In Lembang Contain Trihexphenidyl, A High-dose Sensation Similar To Drugs

BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police have again exposed the illegal practice of making drugs in Sukajaya Village, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency. One person with the initials SS was arrested by officers and named a suspect.

Director of Narcotics Investigation of the West Java Police, Kombes Rudy Ahmad Sudrajat, said that in order to deceive the officers, the home-scale drug factory was camouflaged as a place for raising chickens and ducks. This strategy is carried out to avoid public suspicion.

"According to the suspect's confession, this is a hobby in question, but if we look at this it could be to cover up their forbidden activities," said Rudy at the location of the disclosure, as reported by Antara, Friday, July 9.

This strong drug produced by a home factory bears the LL and Y logo which contains Trihexphenidyl and is listed in the G group.

The drugs are often abused to get a sensation like taking drugs.

Based on SS's confession, said Rudy, this factory has been operating since four months ago. From that place the police got 1.5 million pills of drugs bearing the LL and Y logos.

"So the raw material contains Trihexphenidyl, the active ingredient, so it can cause high-level hallucinations," he said.

The location of the chicken and duck coops is close to residential areas, while the building where the medicine is produced is behind the location area.

"So behind us there are poultry cages, such as ducks, chickens, geese, and birds," he said.

The police arrested the suspect under Article 197 and Article 196 of Law Number 36 Year 2009 concerning the Production or Distribution of Pharmaceutical Preparations that do not have a distribution permit and do not meet the standards of safety, efficacy or benefit.

The suspect faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a fine ranging from IDR 1 billion to IDR 1.5 billion.
