Family Cries Broke When Adi Supanto's Body, Yunicee's KMP Victim Arrived In Banyuwangi
BANYUWANGI - The family burst into tears when the body of Adi Supanto (48), a victim of KMP Yunicee arrived at the funeral home, in Ketapang Village, Banyuwangi, East Java.
Adi Supanto is a masseur who usually offers his services on the Java-Bali ferry.
Unfortunately at the time of the incident, the victim was at KMP Yunicee which sank in the waters of Gilimanuk, Bali.
The bodies of the new victims were found in Kelatakan Waters, Melaya, Jembrana, Friday, 9 Bali. Local fishermen found in cages which are approximately 500 meters from the shoreline.
A colleague of the victim, Sunoto, said that he initially saw the upload on social media that the body of the victim of KMP Yunicee was found. After checking, it turned out that the victim was a colleague.
He said Supanto was a member of the archipelago massagers association.
"We went to the hospital in Jembrana (Bali) to make sure and it was true that he was our friend," he said at the funeral home.
After that, the victim's body was taken to the funeral home and buried in the Ketapang Village Public Cemetery.
The head of the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas Bali), Gede Darmada, confirmed the information on the discovery.
"The Jembrana SAR Post received it at 08.20 WITA to ask for evacuation assistance and the body has been pulled up to Kelatakan Beach," Darmada explained.
The victim was still fully clothed with black trousers and a black t-shirt. After being found, the victim was evacuated to the State Hospital.
Supanto is a victim who was reported missing by his family on the fifth day of the SAR operation or Saturday, July 3.
From today's findings, out of a total of 77 POBs, 51 survivors were recorded, 10 people died and 16 people were missing.
