Powered By 442.5 HP, Dodge's First Electric Car Will Launch In 2024
JAKARTA - Not wanting to be left behind with other car manufacturers, Dodge is now starting a project to build their electric car. The muscle car manufacturer from Michigan, United States will soon launch their muscular electric car in 2024.
The car brand, which has focused on engine performance with great power and masculine appearance, has confirmed that it will continue to launch cars that have great power, even though they are based on electricity.
But the question is, can Dodge electric cars, later display a roaring sound like their main feature so far. This will be a challenge considering the sound of an electric car is different from the sound of a conventional gasoline or diesel car.
Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis announced the upcoming model on Thursday 8 July. Kuniskis says Dodge has reached the limits of performance with its V8 engine and has an "obligation to embrace" electrification for its customers.
Details about the car were not disclosed, but a computer-generated leak depicts a four-tyre coupe with stripes resembling a classic 1968 Dodge Charger.
Even a new version of the classic Dodge triangle logo is featured, which seems to designate the car sporting a new powertrain.
Separately, Stellantis Chief Engineering Officer, Harald Wester, said the automaker would have an electric car model capable of accelerating to 60 mph in 2 seconds. This model will put it on par with the new Tesla Model S Plaid.
The large vehicle platform that will be used for this model is also designed to accommodate all-wheel drive and an electric motor that can produce up to 442.5 hp of power. This is a power that characterizes a true Dodge car.
