Medan City Tightens Micro PPKM
MEDAN - The Mayor of Medan, North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution, said the city of Medan was tightening the implementation of micro community activity restrictions (PPKM) to control COVID-19 cases.
"Currently, Medan City has entered into a tightening of micro PPKM along with 43 other regencies/cities outside Java and Bali," said Bobby Nasution in Medan, quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 8.
He emphasized this when reviewing the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination for athletes and coaches in the face of the XX Papua National Sports Week, which was centered at the Teladan Stadium, Medan.
Therefore, he continued, certain community activities had to be limited to 17.00 WIB, as an effort to break the chain of spread of the corona virus.
The tightening will take effect from 6 to 20 July 2021 in 43 districts/cities in 20 provinces that have an assessment level of four covering Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Papua.
"I appeal to the public to comply with the Medan Mayor's Circular that has been issued, so that they can leave the 43 regencies/cities," said Bobby Nasution.
The chairman of the Medan City KONI, Eddy Sibarani in this review, said 160 athletes from 43 sports excel and 40 coaches were vaccinated.
"All our athletes and coaches are vaccinated in stages, because there are about 60 percent of athletes who have not been vaccinated," he said.
