Stocks Are Running Low, Bandarlampung City Government Delays COVID Vaccinations For 12-17 Years Old Children And Pregnant Women
BANDARLAMPUNG - The Bandarlampung City Government has postponed the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination for children 12-17 years old, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. This policy was taken following the depletion of vaccine stocks.
"We are still waiting for the COVID-19 vaccine to arrive to vaccinate children and pregnant and lactating mothers. Indeed, the plan is this Thursday or next week," said Head of the Bandaelampung City Health Office, Edwin Rusli, as quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 8. in Bandar Lampung.
Currently, there are only 300 vials of the COVID-19 vaccine in Bandarlampung City, so the vaccination for the two groups of people cannot be carried out.
"We will continue to carry it out after the vaccine arrives, we will calculate first, how many doses for children and pregnant and lactating women, the implementation will be gradual, not all at once," he said.
Regarding the limitations of the COVID-19 vaccine, Kadinkes revealed that it had requested additional vaccines from the central government every two weeks.
"Within two weeks we proposed 5,000 doses of vaccine but those that came were not certain," he said.
On the other hand, he also said that the quota for vaccination for the general public was reduced to 50 doses per day at 31 puskesmas in Bandarlampung.
"Yes, because now during the implementation of Micro Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), vaccinations in health centers are usually rationed at 100 doses, now reduced to 50 doses to avoid crowds," he said
