Neko-neko Want To Race Wild In Mini Park, These 5 Youths Are Transported By Police, 1 Positive For COVID-19
JAKARTA - East Jakarta Metro Police officers arrested five youths who were about to conduct illegal racing on Jalan Raya Taman Mini, Cipayung.
East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Erwin Kurniawan said the arrest of the five youths was based on reports from the public regarding the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).
"On July 8 at 00.30 WIB, we received a report that there was a group of people in front of TMII who, after an investigation, would conduct a wild race, but previously they gathered and did not heed the health protocols for the emergency PPKM masses," said Erwin Kurniawan as quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 8th.
Erwin said the five youths, with the initials MF, WR, AA, A, and DPS, were arrested along with evidence of four motorbikes that would be used for illegal racing.
"The allegation that we identify and suspect is Article 14 paragraph 2 of Law Number 4 of 1984 regarding negligence which resulted in the obstruction of the epidemic prevention," said Erwin.
Erwin added that his party had also carried out a COVID-19 test on the five young men and it was known that one of them was positive for COVID-19 based on an antigen swab test.
"After being swabbed, the five suspects were reactive, namely the DPS sister, so it is clear that this is evidence in the crowd of one of the reactive carriers of the COVID-19 virus," said Erwin.
