Charity Box Thief In 8 Mosques In Banda Aceh Arrested

"After we conducted an investigation, suspect P (33) admitted that he had stolen charity boxes several times at eight crime scenes, and the stolen money was used to buy drugs and online game chips," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banda Aceh Police, AKP M Ryan Citra Yudha. , quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 8.
Ryan said the suspect committed the crime of theft to buy marijuana and crystal methamphetamine, Higgs Domino online game chips, and because of economic problems.
In the action, said Ryan, the perpetrator who came from North Aceh Regency used tools in the form of a crowbar and a screwdriver.
"For his own motive, the suspect admitted that he used to buy domino chips, buy drugs of marijuana, methamphetamine and for the economic needs in question," he said.
Ryan said that the suspect was first caught by a resident of the Lampriet PHB hostel in Banda Aceh when he stole the charity box of the Al Fitrah mosque complex.
After being secured by residents, Ryan continued, the perpetrator was handed over to the police. Meanwhile, based on the results of the interrogation, it turned out that the theft by the suspect had been carried out repeatedly in different locations.
"There are eight crime scenes including the Cot Masjid mosque, Punge, Lambugop, Lambeu, PHB dormitory, Perumnas Keutapang and another one is still being identified because the suspect forgot," said Ryan.
The perpetrators of the theft of the charity box will be charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of seven years in prison.
