Amien Rais Says TNI-Polri Are Not Involved In The Death Of 6 FPI Troops, Mahfud: Thank You, Mr. Amien, For Your Sportsmanship

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD responded positively to the statement issued by one of the members of the Sixth FPI member of the Guarding Team for the Murders, Amien Rais.

Amien Rais said the deaths of 6 FPI troops that occurred on the Cikampek KM 50 Toll Road some time ago had nothing to do with the TNI-Polri.

"Thank you, Mr. Amien, for your sportsmanship in announcing the findings of TP3 regarding the killing of 6 FPI Troops, that there is no TNI-POLRI involvement," Mahfud said as quoted from his official Twitter page, @mohmahfudmd, Thursday, July 8.

With Amien Rais' findings, the allegations circulating regarding gross human rights violations are not proven. The deaths of 6 special soldiers assigned to guard Rizieq Shihab are a common crime.

"This means that the incident was not a serious human rights violation but an ordinary crime. The gross human rights violation involved the apparatus in a structured and systematic way," explained Mahfud.

The former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) added that when Amien Rais and TP3 met President Joko Widodo at the state palace, Komnas HAM had presented several findings which confirmed that the incident was not a gross violation of human rights.

It's just that the government gives the opportunity to TP3 if they have other evidence that this incident is a gross violation of human rights.

"But if TP3 has evidence of gross human rights violations, the government will follow up in accordance with Law 26/2000. It turns out that there is no evidence. Thanks TP3," said Mahfud.

For information, Amien Rais' statement concluding that there was no involvement of the TNI-Polri in the deaths of the 6 FPI soldiers was delivered during the online white paper launching, Wednesday, July 7 yesterday.

The white book contains statements from families and witnesses who know for sure the ins and outs of the shooting incident on the Cikampek Toll Road. According to Amien Rais, the sources presented are primary sources so they can be accounted for.

"So it's not B's words, A's words that we are exposing. Like what's in this white paper, the TNI-Polri are not involved in the scenario or implementation of heavy human rights budgeting, so we are grateful," said Amien Rais.

"So we are proud, Alhamdulillah yes, the backbone of the nation's security is called the Police, and the backbone of defense is the TNI, it is not involved at all," said Amien Rais.
