It's Getting Worse, Jakarta Now Has 324 Red Zones, The Most In Central Jakarta

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Province noted that currently there are 324 neighborhoods with red zone status or zones with high COVID-19 risk. These neighborhoods are included in the application of a strict control area (WPK).

In the corona.jakarta.go.id page, the data for these vulnerable neighborhoods are included in the period from July 5 to July 11, 2011. The number of red zones in this period has increased from the previous period. In the period from June 28 to July 4, the red zone is 55 neighborhoods. In the period of June 14 to June 20, the red zone is 10 neighborhoods.

The administrative city has the reddest zone neighborhoods in Central Jakarta with 149 neighborhoods. Then, South Jakarta with 62 neighborhoods, West Jakarta 53, North Jakarta 38, East Jakarta 19, and Thousand Islands 3 neighborhoods.

The red zone neighborhood is defined by the criteria if there are more than 10 houses with positive confirmed cases in one neighborhood for the last seven days.

The control scenario is the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) at the neighborhood level, namely finding suspected cases and tracing close contacts, conducting independent/centralized isolation with strict supervision, temporarily suspending religious activities in places of worship, closing children's playgrounds, and other public places.

In the red zone neighborhoods, only essential sectors are allowed to be opened. There must be a ban on crowds of more than three people, limiting entry and exit from the neighborhood area to a maximum of 20.00 p.m., and eliminating community social activities in the neighborhood environment that cause crowds and potentially cause transmission.

DKI Jakarta has 324 neighborhoods with red zones when active cases of COVID-19 reach 100.062 cases. The percentage of positive cases a week was 40.7 percent. In total, DKI had 610.303 cases during the pandemic, with a cure rate of 82.1 percent and a death rate of 1.5 percent.
