Supporting Environmentally Friendly Vehicles, Prince Charles Visits Hydrogen Car Factory

JAKARTA - Prince Charles, Tuesday, July 6 visited Riversimple, a hydrogen-powered car manufacturer, located in Llandrindod Wells, Powys. This visit was as part of a week long trip to Wales.

Upon arrival at the company, Prince Charles visited the workshop where he saw a number of vehicles and found out more about the production process. He chatted with engineers and technicians about the Powys, before finally taking the wheel of the green model. The car, dubbed “Rasa”, is a light electric vehicle with two seats powered by hydrogen.

During a test drive, Charles heard how the Rasa emitted nothing but pure moisture and was designed to minimize particulates from tires and brakes with its low weight, small tires and high regenerative braking.

The car has a range of 300 miles and is described as 'light to drive, responsive and fun to drive' with '0-60mph in 9.7 seconds'.

Prince Charles, known for his attention to greenery and the environment, looked delighted when he got out of the aerodynamic car. Moreover, the car uses a sleek high-tech butterfly door.

Riversimple is building Rasas for piloting to the general public, both in Monmouthshire, where they have installed hydrogen fuel in downtown Abergavenny, and at Milford Haven in Pembrokeshire.

This is the first in a range of vehicles, including light commercial vans and family vehicles, that the company plans to offer customers on a subscription basis.
