BEM Unnes Instagram Account Hacked And Lost After Nicknaming Ma'ruf Amin King Of Silent

JAKARTA - Unnes BEM KM uploads on Instagram that mention Vice President Ma'ruf Amin The King of Silent and DPR Speaker Puan Maharani The Queen of Ghosting disappeared.

The disappearance of the upload on the BEM KM Unnes Instagram account occurred at around 16.00 WIB, Wednesday, July 7th.

"The official BEM KM Unnes Instagram account has been deactivated and all uploads on the Instagram account have disappeared," said BEM KM Unnes Student President Wahyu Suryono Pratama in a written statement.

Before this upload disappeared, Wahyu also admitted that he had been contacted by the Deputy Dean 3 of the Unnes Faculty of Engineering, Wirawan Sambodo, at around 10.01 WIB. In his confession, the Unnes leader considered the Unnes KM BEM to be ridden with oppositional political interests and threatened not to offend the PDI-P mass.

"Please meet me this afternoon...don't face the PDI period...please withdraw first," said Wahyu, imitating Wirawan's message he received.

Furthermore, Unnes BEM supervisor Rusyanto ST also gave a similar message. "Mas Wahyu, it's better if you don't have to join other campuses in your expression, Wahyu, the digital footprint won't disappear, please think about it with the team, thanks," Rusyanto wrote in a message sent at 10.29 WIB.

Next, at around 10.39 WIB, Unnes Chancellor Fathur Rokhman also contacted Wahyu. Fathur asked for the upload to be deleted.

"This upload contains insults and religious harassment. As Chancellor I ask the Chair of the UNNES BEM to take it down. Please upload an educational one," Fathur asked in his message.

Wahyu then said that the response from Unnes officials to the criticism was excessive and beyond common sense. This is because the criticism he conveys is based on data and can be scientifically justified.

"BEM KM Unnes emphasizes that what BEM does is part of freedom of expression and academic freedom which is protected by the constitution and the law. In fact, the criticism is very natural in the tradition of a democratic country," said Wahyu.

"We are very concerned about this condition. This incident is a tangible manifestation of the weakening of democracy in Indonesia, including digital democracy. This incident seems to have become a tradition when people or institutions retaliate with digital counterattack," he concluded.

Vice President's Response

Vice President Ma'ruf Amin just laughed when he heard the nickname The King of Silent given by the Student Executive Board of the Semarang State University Student Family (BEM KM Unnes).

"(The vice president's reaction, Ma'ruf Amin, ed) is mediocre. The vice president is just laughing," said the spokesman for the vice president, Masduki Baidlowi, to reporters at an online press conference, Wednesday, July 7.

Masduki said the vice president also had no problem with the nicknames given to him by the students. Moreover, Masduki said, Ma'ruf Amin is not the type of person who gets angry easily.

"No, no. The vice president is not angry. I think it's important to note that our vice president is not the one who gets angry when criticized.

The vice president's spokesman also said that the accusations made by students and various parties that said Ma'ruf Amin did not work were not true. He emphasized that so far the former PBNU Rais Aam has carried out his duties well.

Moreover, the president and his deputy are not policy executives, but only coordinate with ministries/agencies. This, called Masduki, has been carried out well by Ma'ruf as vice president.

"As far as the main tasks and functions are concerned, in my eyes the vice president and the other accompanying team have worked quite well," he said.

Even if the results of his work are not widely heard by the public, said Masduki, this is because Ma'ruf still wants to have a low profile style. "If the president and his ministers have spoken, that's enough. That's for example like that," he said.
