Desperate To Open During Emergency PPKM, Semarang Night Entertainment Workers To Arrest Visitors
SEMARANG - The police have arrested dozens of people from a number of entertainment venues who are still desperate to open businesses outside the provisions during the implementation of the emergency community activity restrictions (PPKM) in Semarang City, Central Java.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Semarang Polrestabes AKBP Indra Mardiana said the police had arrested 19 people consisting of visitors and entertainment workers.
He said that the prosecution for violations of the emergency PPKM implementation included a spa in West Semarang and Pedurungan.
According to the police, the place of business remained open during the emergency PPKM and operated beyond 20.00 WIB.
"They have been detained for further questioning," said AKBP Indra, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 7.
AKBP Indra said the administrative sanctions were handed over to the Semarang City Government.
"If there is a criminal element from the examination, we will follow up," he said.
AKBP Indra reminded business actors to obey the emergency PPKM rules that have been implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
"At the time it was promulgated, they should have known, but in fact many claimed not to know," he said.
