Samosir Regent Raids Fish Shooting Gambling Locations Near His Office

MEDAN - The Regent of Samosir, North Sumatra, Vandiko Timotius Gultom directly raided the fish shooting gambling arena near the Samosir Regent's office complex.

Vandiko said the raid was carried out after receiving information from the public. At that time, he who was chairing a meeting to handle COVID-19 received a message as well as a photo.

"Someone sent photo evidence of the practice of shooting fish gambling, 3 photos were sent to me and they are located near the regent's office," said Vandiko when confirmed, Wednesday, July 7.

Not staying silent, Vandiko together with law enforcement officers and the Satpol PP immediately moved to the location suspected of shooting fish.

"Very close, at first we saw that the report was in 2 places. After the development of the perpetrators, it turned out that there were about 4 near the Regent's office, very close," he explained.

From the results of his raids, Vandiko said that his party secured 6 fish shooting gambling machines from 4 different locations.

"For the location, because it's a shop, so the tools are secured by the Police," he said.

The Regent of Samosir is concerned about the finding of this gambling location. This is because the gambling site is located near the Regent's office, which is considered the center of government.

"I think it is very disturbing to damage the morale of the Samosir community. Because of this, they have been very brave to carry out this practice around the regent's office, which is the central government," he said.

The thing that made it even more sad was when the Regent of Samosir heard the confession of the shop owner who provided the location for shooting fish gambling.

"When I asked the shop owners why they dared to provide this at home, they said that it was because it was near the Regent's Office that they felt safe. This means that they are very rude, these suppliers are very brave to give, guaranteeing to the shop owners that it is safe around the regent," he said.

"I think this is very difficult to damage the dignity of the Samosir Regency Government, especially since this is the center of government, if it is likened to the presidential palace," he continued.

Therefore, the Regent of Samosir emphasized that he would not remain silent. He will eradicate gambling, prostitution and drug trafficking in his area.

"Samosir has been declared the zero point of Batak civilization, there is a cultural side, a religious side, so it is not appropriate to destroy the morals of the community with this, which has many disadvantages, such as gambling, prostitution and drugs," said Vandiko.
