Targeting The Mobility Of Central Java And Yogykarata Residents To Decrease By 30 Percent, Luhut: If You Can 50 Percent!
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, who is also the Coordinator of the Java-Bali Emergency PPKM, targets to reduce the mobility of residents in Central Java (Central Java) and Yogyakarta by at least 30 percent.
This was conveyed by Luhut at the coordination meeting (Rakor) for the Implementation of Emergency PPKM in Central Java and Yogyakarta, Tuesday, July 6.
"I want to try to convey the daily monitoring of the effectiveness of the Emergency PPKM in Central Java and Yogyakarta. I started with a decrease in mobility in both, which increased by around 15 percent, but it was still below the target. I hope that the achievement of reducing mobility must be at least 30 percent, if possible 50 percent, " said Coordinating Minister Luhut in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, July 7.
Coordinating Minister Luhut explained that there was an increase in the decline in the mobility of citizens in all districts/cities in Central Java (Central Java). Based on the top order, the decline in mobility occurred in Banjarnegara, Kudus, Purbalingga, Boyolali, Banyumas, and Grobogan.
The decline in citizen mobility is monitored through Google Traffic, NASA Night Light, and Facebook Mobility. The reduction in the mobility of citizens is said to be necessary to suppress the transmission of COVID-19.
Based on the analysis, it takes a 30 percent decrease in citizen mobility for the Alpha variant of COVID-19 and 50 percent for the Delta variant, so that the number of COVID-19 cases can decrease.
"So I will check what the Regional Police Chief and the Regional Military Commander have made, we must be able to get above a 30 percent decline in mobility, at best 50 percent. The longer the decline, the longer it will take and the worse our economy will be. The President ordered not to take too long about this problem," said Coordinating Minister Luhut.
Responding to this, Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Pol Ahmad Luthfi explained that his party had coordinated with the Governor of Central Java to reduce the mobility of residents.
"We have had a meeting with the governor regarding solutions that work in essential and critical sectors, which will be given a work certificate, and we have briefed with the Police Chief, Dandim, and related parties have ordered district/city areas to list offices or places that are essential and critical. to provide certificates to employees so they can be mapped," said Kapolda Luthfi.
