JCI Closed Thursday, Increasing 1.61 Percent To 4,716.19 Level

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed higher on trading Thursday, May 28. JCI closed up 1.61 percent or 74.63 points to 4,716.19 levels.

Closing the trade, 195 stocks rose, 196 stocks fell, and 162 stocks remained stagnant. The trading volume was recorded at 9.68 billion shares and was transacted at IDR 12.03 trillion.

Binaartha Sekuritas analyst M. Nafan Aji Gustama said the reopening of the US economy provided positive sentiment for the stock index.

"The market has responded positively to the dividend period. In addition, the global market has also responded positively to various stimulus programs," Nafan told VOI.

This afternoon, stocks that were among the top gainers, including PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Syaria Tbk (BTPS) which rose 7.14 percent to IDR2,700, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) which strengthened 6.65 percent to IDR 26,475, and PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) which strengthened 5.88 percent to IDR 720.

While stocks that are in the top losers ranks, including PT jasnita Telekomindo Tbk (JAST) which weakened 6.09 percent to Rp108, PT Pakuwon Jati Tbk (PWON) which fell 6.00 percent to Rp376, and PT Modernland Realty Tbk (MDLN) which weakened 5.88 percent to Rp64.
