Plaza Kenari Mas Is Sealed, Management Is Checked

JAKARTA - The police are investigating the manager of Plaza Kenari Mas, Central Jakarta, because they are still operating during the Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). In the aftermath of the violation, Plaza Kenari Mas was sealed.

"The manager of Kenari Mas Mall is currently being investigated by the Central Jakarta Police Satreskrim," Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Hengki Haryadi told reporters, Tuesday, July 6.

The sanction for sealing the Kenari Mas Plaza was carried out by Satpol PP officers. Because, according to PPKM rules, malls cannot operate.

"It has been sealed by Satpol PP," said Hengki.

"Kenari Mas Mall remains open, even though it is not critical and must be closed," he continued.

Kombes Hengki said the action he took was based on Governor's Decree number 875 of 2021 and Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs number 15 of 2021 regarding Emergency PPKM. The goal is to suppress the spread of COVID-19 in Jakarta.

"According to the emergency PPKM policy, limit mobility to avoid crowds. We must be firm," he said.

Previously, the Polda Metro Jaya also examined Ray White's manager and HRD in the aftermath of violations while still operating during the Emergency PPKM period.

Not only that, the employees who were working at that time were also questioned. The goal is to find out why the company is still operating.

Because, Ray White is not a company that is included in the critical and essential sector. Moreover, there is a growing suspicion that many employees are forced to continue working during the Emergency PPKM.

"Everything is (examined)," said the Director of General Crime Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Tubagus Ade Hidayat.
