Police Intervene To Investigate The Case Of Oxygen Sales Fraud

JAKARTA - The police have started investigating fraudulent actions by selling oxygen cylinders on social media. In fact, this fraud case is already in the investigation stage.

"We are conducting an investigation. Maybe in the near future we will inform our media partners. There are people who sell gas cylinders on social media or in online stores," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police Kombes Auliansyah Lubis to reporters on Tuesday. , July 6th.

This case is suspected to be related to the existence of a fraudulent act that was busy on Twitter social media. At that time, the victim via the @ShaniBudi account uploaded a photo and narration that he had been deceived by someone on behalf of PT Nisson Indonesia.

In his upload, the victim said that he had been deceived by Rp. 1.5 million when he bought an oxygen cylinder.

However, Auliansyah did not clearly describe the case he was investigating. He only said that the modus operandi used by the perpetrators was fraud.

"People have bought it but the person concerned lied not to sell the gas cylinder. We are also processing this," he said.

In addition, he also emphasized that his party will continue to comb through all practices indicated by criminal acts of fraud that take advantage of public panic over the availability of drugs and oxygen. Because, during the COVID-19 pandemic, medicine and oxygen are needed by all parties.

"We also monitor on social media, not only on social media, those who sell them (drugs and oxygen), but people who try to cause trouble and scare our people will also take action," said Auliansyah.
