The Remaining Schedule Of La Liga This Season Will Be Played Monday And Friday
JAKARTA - The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) will give La Liga permission to stage matches every Monday and Friday when competition starts again. This was done to facilitate the completion of the 2019-20 season.
The announcement came despite a Spanish commercial court backing the RFEF in a legal battle with La Liga over Monday and Friday nights. The federation previously argued that the scheduling of games on these days was subject to their approval.
"A temporary measure is being undertaken this season in which Friday night matches are permitted, but not Monday," said the RFEF's previous statement quoted by Football Espana, Thursday, May 28.
However, the RFEF said in a statement that it wanted to show good faith by allowing La Liga to play both days of the season. Of course, if the 2019-20 season continues after being suspended due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
This statement also reminds La Liga that the judges urge any future negotiations regarding the events on these days to be carried out in good faith as well.
The statement said: "The RFEF shows utmost satisfaction with the statement issued this morning by Madrid's number two commercial judge, in which he rejected La Liga's request and stated that the match dispute on Friday and Monday required RFEF approval.
"The RFEF has always believed that there is a reason for this problem.
"Furthermore, the RFEF wants to show clearly its good intentions, to facilitate the season ending smoothly.
"Therefore, we offer La Liga - without linking it to the start of negotiations - that matches can be played on Friday and Monday, which is included in the calendar, from the resumption of competition and until the end of this season, without asking for anything during this month and a half. . "
