From Now On, Indonesian Citizens Who Enter Indonesia Do Not Have A Vaccine Certificate To Be Directly Vaccinated
JAKARTA - The government requires Indonesian citizens (WNI) who return from overseas trips to be vaccinated against COVID-19. This has been true since the implementation of the Java-Bali emergency PPKM.
Therefore, the Head of the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Ganip Warsito issued an Addendum to Circular Letter Number 8 of 2021 concerning International Travel Health Protocols during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
This SE was also created as a precaution against an increase in COVID-19 transmission, including new variants such as the Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Gamma variants.
In the SE, the Task Force requires Indonesian citizens who enter Indonesia to show a vaccination card or certificate.
"WNIs are required to show a card or certificate (physical or digital) having received a complete dose of COVID-19 vaccine as a requirement to enter Indonesia," Ganip wrote in SE, quoted on Tuesday, June 6.
Then, if Indonesian citizens from abroad who enter Indonesia have not been vaccinated, then they will immediately receive the COVID-19 vaccination upon arrival in the country.
"In the event that Indonesian citizens have not received vaccinations abroad, they will be vaccinated at the quarantine site upon arrival in Indonesia after the second RT PCR examination with negative results," said Ganip.
This vaccination facility does not apply to foreign nationals (foreigners). Foreigners who enter Indonesia must be fully vaccinated in two doses.
However, the obligation to show a COVID-19 vaccination card or certificate is exempted for foreigners holding diplomatic visas and service visas related to official or state visits of foreign officials at ministerial level and above and foreigners who enter Indonesia with the travel corridor arrangement scheme.
In addition, every traveler who enters Indonesia is still required to show a negative result of the RT PCR test and undergo quarantine for 8x24 hours.
Furthermore, on the seventh day of quarantine, Indonesian citizens and foreigners again underwent RT PCR retest. If the test results are negative, then they can be declared completed quarantine.
If the test result is positive for COVID-19, the Indonesian citizen undergoes treatment in a hospital at a cost borne by the government, while the foreigner will be paid independently.
