Celebrate July 4th, Video Of Mark Zuckerberg Gliding On Water Viral
JAKARTA - Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Sunday shared a dramatic video of the Fourth of July as US Independence Day, of himself carrying the American flag by riding an electric surfboard across a lake. This post made the virtual world a scene and went viral on social media.
“Happy July 4th!” Zuckerberg wrote, in the video's Instagram post. This video
The Facebook founder, who has a net worth of around 132 billion US dollars (approximately Rp1908 trillion), in the video rides an Efoil surfboard for 12,000 US dollars (approximately Rp17 million). This skateboard allows the user to slide on the water. Last year, Zuckerberg was pictured riding a similar board, off the coast of Hawaii.
In a video posted on Sunday July 4th, the mega-billionaire deftly slices water across his board while following John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads."
"This is the worst thing ever," commented one Twitter user on the video.
Fellow technology executive Aaron Levie, founder and CEO of enterprise cloud company Box, said, "Zuck really did his part to make tech founders seem normal."
The video also compares to George Washington's valiant crossing of Delaware in 1776 to launch a surprise attack on British troops, during the US war of independence.
Meanwhile, a reporter for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation shared a video photo of him and Zuckerberg jogging in 2016 on Beijing's Tiananmen Square. "What a difference 5 years can make," he wrote.
Zuckerberg's 2016 trip through Beijing, despite dangerous levels of air pollution at the time, was seen as an attempt to surrender to the Chinese government in an attempt to get Facebook permission to operate in the country.
In another comment on Zuckerberg's Fourth of July video, one user said, “When you get an antitrust lawsuit you are filed by a judge. Come on GOOOOO Zuck."
That clearly refers to a court decision last week in which a federal judge dismissed an antitrust complaint filed by the US Federal Trade Commission. and a parallel lawsuit filed by a coalition of 48 states and districts against Facebook.
Some thought the video might be just an attempt to get a reaction from the internet and serve as easy publicity. “Zuck is trying to improve his public image in the only way possible. To beat Fonzie who jumped over the shark," wrote @frazer_haden.
