Firm Not Just Words, Bekasi Task Force Closes Shops And Restaurants In Lippo Cikarang Emergency PPKM Violators
CIKARANG - The Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19 in Bekasi Regency, West Java, has taken firm action by closing businesses that violate the provisions for the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).
This control operation lasted for two hours starting at 16.00 WIB with the target concentration area of business actors in South Cikarang District.
"We together with Forkopimda elements carried out further socialization and at the same time closed businesses that were still active and violated the provisions of the Emergency PPKM," said the Head of Ops of the Bekasi Metro Police, AKBP Yuli Haryudo, in Cikarang, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 5.
This control operation involved joint officers consisting of police, TNI soldiers, and officers from the Bekasi Regency Satpol PP and witnessed by elements of the local Regional Leadership Communication Forum.
AKBP Yuli said that during the operation on the third day of implementing the Emergency PPKM, officers found that a number of economic businesses such as clothing traders, cell phone sellers, and food stalls including restaurants did not comply with the established rules.
"Shops as well as food stalls and restaurants in the Ciantra and Lippo Cikarang areas are closed because they have the potential to cause crowds," he said.
AKBP Yuli admitted that he had provided socialization to the surrounding community the day before. They are asked to comply with the provisions of the Emergency PPKM with the consequence of closing their place of business for violators.
"Yes, we should have done this (closure) for the health and safety of the residents because after all that is our priority," he said.
"That's why we are going down together, jointly so that business actors want to temporarily close during this Emergency PPKM period," he added.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Bekasi Regency Satpol PP, Deni Mulyadi, said the regional government would continue similar activities so that the implementation of Emergency PPKM runs effectively and maximally so that the spread of the corona virus can be suppressed and controlled.
"We are taking firm action in the community in particular, most business actors are also aware and what we convey they have been able to carry out well," he said.
Deni admitted that he would take firm action against business actors who deliberately carry out commercial activities without heeding the provisions of the Emergency PPKM, while his party has carried out socialization to verbal and written warnings.
"Today we are still persuasive, but if they violate us again, we will take strict action according to the rules to create a deterrent effect, including the permanent closure of business premises," he said.
