Entering Jakarta Without SKIM, 7 People Are Quarantined

JAKARTA - Head of DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, revealed that seven people were quarantined for 14 days because they entered Jakarta without having an exit and entry permit (SIKM). SIKM is a requirement for all people who do not have a Jabodetabek ID card and want to enter the DKI area.

Syafrin said, of the seven people, five people who were quarantined came from outside the area on a train trip to Gambir Station, Central Jakarta. Meanwhile, two other bus passengers entered the terminal in East Jakarta.

"For residents who enter, it turns out that they do not have SIKM, it must be quarantined. The local mayor has prepared the place, but for their daily needs, they must be independent," said Syafrin when contacted, Wednesday, May 27.

Syafrin explained why the seven people were able to get into Jakarta, because they had bought train travel tickets before the DKI Provincial Government set SIKM requirements during the PSBB period. Meanwhile, passengers who board the bus get around to departing from the middle of the road and not from the terminal.

"When they arrive at the station and terminal here (Jakarta), we will definitely check it," he said.

Meanwhile, some people refused to be quarantined. Finally, they are forced to return to travel to their hometowns using their personal expenses.

Thousands of riders without SIKM were distorted

Since the SIKM checks at a number of check points took effect last May 15, there have been 2,900 vehicles that have been reversed to date.

Drivers and passengers of private vehicles and transportation of these people do not have SIKM or have tried to register for SIKM but are refused.

Most of them are migrants who are looking for work in Jakarta, such as household members and students studying in the capital city, as well as workers who work in the business sector who are prohibited from operating in the office during the PSBB.

"In accordance with the PSBB regulations, health workers, government workers, or industries who are allowed can get SIKM and return (to Jakarta). However, if those activities are excluded, they will definitely not get SIKM," explained Syafrin.

Meanwhile, to date, 259,813 people have successfully accessed SIKM licenses from the corona.jakarta.go.id website and 6,622 received SIKM applications have been recorded. Of the total applications received, there are 64 applications that are still in process.

In details, 682 applications await validated by the guarantor, 4,544 applications are rejected, and 1,332 applications have met the requirements so that SIKM can be issued electronically.

There was a surge in SIKM applications on the last day of Ramadan, up to 1 Shawwal 1441 Hijriah, a total of 1,772 SIKM applications were received by DPMPTSP DKI Jakarta Province in just 24 hours.
