Opening Of Tourism Places In Jakarta Done Gradually
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government plans to reopen tourism spots when the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) period ends. However, not all places will be fully opened.
Head of the Tourism Office, Cucu Ahmad Kurnia, explained that the opening of tourism will be carried out in stages. The opening indicator is seen from the size of the trend of the increase in COVID-19 cases in a region.
"Later, the opening is also selected gradually. Look for the one with the least risk of transmission first, not at the same time. That is what is being discussed. What is the case (in tourist areas), whether it is getting better or not," said Cucu when contacted, Wednesday, 27 May.
In addition, tourism business managers such as hotels, tourist attractions, and night entertainment must also ensure the implementation of COVID-19 prevention protocols such as maintaining a safe distance and wearing masks.
"They must have a COVID-19 protocol for each tourist spot," he said.
Grandchildren also cannot confirm when the opening of the tourist attractions will be held. He said, the decision to easing the PSBB was in the hands of the National Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force.
"The authority for the easing, PSBB is in the Covid-19 Cluster team. He has rules before he stipulates them," he said.
PSBB does not necessarily end on June 4DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that his party would still review whether to extend or end the third phase of the PSBB which will be completed on 4 June.
Anies emphasized that it is not the provincial government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta or experts who can determine whether the PSBB is extended or not, but the behavior of the people that determines it.
Furthermore, Anies said, if the behavior of the whole community restrains itself, then the reproductive rate of the virus drops, then the implementation of the PSBB could end on June 4. However, on the other hand, if it does not show a decrease, then the rule must be extended.
"At this time someone said that the mall will open on June 5, the mall will open on the 7th, that is imagination. That is fiction because there is no regulation that says the PSBB is ended," said Anies.
According to Anies, the decision on whether the Jakarta PSBB will be extended or not will be decided next week. After that, the Provincial Government will also announce protocols for each industry and protocols that must be carried out by the whole community. One of them is that you must wear a mask.
"I always say this PSBB can be the final PSBB, but it can also be extended. It depends on monitoring of current community activities," he said.
